Welcome to the Golden Dawn Temple

Golden Dawn Los Angeles is an esoteric, fraternal order established to practice the teachings and traditions of the Order of the Golden Dawn, a nineteenth-century hermetic society established by high-ranking Masons and Rosicrucians, Dr. William Wynn Westcott, S.L. "MacGregor” Mathers and Dr. William Robert Woodman. We offer initiations, classes, and guided mentoring with self-study.

 While no current US Golden Dawn temple holds the original chartered lineage of the Golden Dawn, the Golden Dawn Los Angeles Temple continues to strive for our goals of reviving the original Golden Dawn traditions, its teaching of ceremonial magic and rituals.  

The ceremonial magic influence of the Golden Dawn is evidenced by how much of the system has been adapted by other groups and many of its ceremonies are now standard practice throughout the metaphysical world, including present-day Western Occultism and Wicca.

The teachings of the Golden Dawn Order are firmly based in the Qabalistic and Hermetic traditions of the West and include elements of the Egyptian and Graeco-Roman mystery traditions, Neoplatonic philosophy, the theurgy of Iamblichus, Gnosticism, Rosicrucianism, and Esoteric Christianity to name just a few.   

Golden Dawn Los Angeles obligations are threefold - to God, Man, and the Universe. 

The practice of which is also threefold in nature - to Teach, Heal and Initiate. 

We are an initiating temple in the tradition of the Golden Dawn System 

located in the Los Angeles area. Our temple offers classes in Western Mysteries, Hermeticism, Mystical Qabalah, Tarot, and others.
